Tap into your problem-solving, creative and strategic mind with this exercise

Is it hard for you to create focus time during work hours? Are you often feeling distracted and unproductive?

Focus time helps tap into the parts of your brain that tend to be less accessible when you’re in a stress reaction: your problem-solving, creative and strategic mind. Performance and work life balance experts will tell you, “to be consistently productive and manage stress better, we must strengthen our skill in attention management.”

Our digital devices have become by far our biggest distractors. The good news is that you can tweak your work day schedule and organize your digital toolbox so that you can attend to what’s needed in a way that fuels rather than zaps your energy. This will help you tap into your natural strengths and intelligence. And when you get the important things done with a bit more ease, you are and feel more successful. And that makes us feel more positive all around.

Set 15 minutes aside to go through this simple reflection exercise and tips. Before you know it, you’ll have mapped out what you need to attend to that matters and not just the small stuff.
